500 _aAutobiography of María Mercedes Rodríguez Vásquez (1922-2013), the daughter of the legendary anti-Trujillo fighter, Juan Rodríguez García (1886-1960). This testimony tells of the life of her father as much as her own life. Rodríguez García was known as General Juancito Rodríguez and was a very wealthy landowner in the Cibao region. After he was forced into exile, from Cuba and Venezuela he dedicated his life and fortune fighting to bring down the Trujillo regime. He financed several expeditions to the D.R. all of which failed including those of Cayo Confites (1947) and Luperón (1949). Rodríguez García commited suicide just months before Trujillo was assassinated. This is a very important for the study of Dominican history.
